Surviving a recession
February 26, 2009 – 10:04 pmLike everyone, things have been a challenge for me over the past few months. I am fortunate to have a good job. The downside is that my business took a major dump and crashed! Ouch. Did I loose money, yes Virginia, I did. And it was a painful experience.
For me, the fact that the business crashed and I held onto a dying patient way too long did not help much. I should have seen the signs but got my ego in the way – I can fix this, I can fix anything. I should have known the company I was working with was a bunch of Jackasses – whom shall be dealt with through legal measures. I should have watched the signs and looked for escapes long ago, but I did not.
So what has this to do with Urban Survival. In the instance of a Bugout, sometimes remaining too long is not a good thing. If you are not near the front, its better to hang on and let all of the panicing fools to get out of the way – you’ll see them broken down on the side of the road as well.
However, hanging on too long will expose you potentially to looters and thieves. Unless you are well equipped, you may have an issue to deal with. Waiting too long could cost you everything!
So, do you have an escape plan should the crap hit the fan. I am not being an alarmist, just practicle. I am hoping that our pres can pull this one off just enough to avoid problems.
I am working on the next course module as you read this. It is on bugging out. Just remember – know where you are going and what you need to have to live in the area. I personally have 4 spots that I can bug out to in different areas. The key is that all of them have water all year long and are in different areas.
If you have not already signed up, please do so. If you are wanting the Army Survival Guide, please drop me a line and I will email it! It is in pdf format! Too large for my autoresponder to send out.
Carpe Diem
