As a note:  I recieved a note from one of my readers asking me about gold. I consult for various mining companies (Gold and copper primarily, worldwide) With Gold still in outrageous territory, investing in gold companies (e.g. stock) is much more palitable.  Also, Silver is a very economical alternative and usually tracks gold pretty well!Another metal to invest in is copper when it gets down below $2/lb.  I was talking with a buddy of mine and he mentioned that a lot of chinese farmers are buying copper cathode and holding while prices fluctate.  That way, they can make 50 to 100% depending on their timing.
